The Pharmacy Systems Analyst I functions as the primary support of clinical systems and end users which includes: performing needs assessment, data collection, analysis and project coordination. They work under the direction of the Application Team Lead to configure, build, test & install the application. They coordinate all issues that arise during the project for their application area. Primary responsibilities include analyzing work flows and understanding policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations. In depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality is required. A key activity is to analyze new releases to determine how new features impact/benefit current workflows and what configuration modifications are appropriate. The Pharmacy System Analyst I is also responsible for the identification of needed changes to test scripts and the thorough testing of the changes; including regression testing as a result of the newly released code. They function as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, go-live and post go-live periods. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates are proactive with helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Supports new application development including analysis, planning and preparation.
  • 2. Designs, programs and tests interfaces and reports according to the departmental standards.
  • 3. Identifies and recommends changes in workflow, procedures, forms and/or data to make optimal use of the new system.
  • 4. Provides teammates with workflow, design, build and testing expertise to ensure a successful implementation.
  • 5. Analyzes business processes to ensure proper system configuration.
  • 6. Logs, tracks, and resolves issues and changes related to software code modifications or enhancements.
  • 7. Meets with users to determine their requirements as it relates to hardware or software needs.
  • 8. Informs management of all issues that are impacting or will impact assigned area/s.
  • 9. Creates and maintains regular status reports to immediate Applications Coordinator.
  • 10. Attends weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • 11. Completes specific task activities in Service Now.
  • 12. Works with training team to develop application specific training curriculums and materials.
  • 13. Supports all project team members with application and information systems knowledge.
  • 14. Promotes a team atmosphere that is conducive to the overall accomplishment of goals, schedules, and deadlines.
  • 15. Openly shares information with all team members.
  • 16. Willingness to subordinate individual goals for team goals.
  • 17. Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configures system accordingly.
  • 18. Contributes to preparation of testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

Graduation from an accredited college of Pharmacy with a BS, MS or Pharm. D. degree required. Completion of a residency in a hospital pharmacy from a program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacist is desired but not required.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

1 to 2 years Hospital or Retail based pharmacy experience. Informatics residency or commensurate experience required. Operations improvement skills and experience with automated dispensing technology preferred.

 

LICENSURE

 

Required to attend out of state training. Epic certification in relevant applications required within 3 months of hire . Appropriate certification in other application software as required

 

SPECIAL SKILLS

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

 

Work will be performed in a designated department location as well as in remote locations; i.e. office within the analysts home.
