Position Focus:

Housed within the Jackson School of Global Affairs, the International Leadership Center (ILC) is comprised of the Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program, the Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship, a global Peace Partnership, and the Petraeus-Recanati-Kaplan Fellowship, with additional programs currently under development. Reporting to and working closely with the ILC Director, the ILC Program Manager is responsible for developing and growing all aspects of knowledge management for the ILC across multiple formats and platforms. Designs and implements new strategies to capture, share and promote substantive content and programmatic information. Creates, writes, and disseminates engaging content based on the output of ILC fellowship programs and the work of the fellows themselves through both existing channels and new channels as appropriate. Manage all ILC program social media accounts, newsletters, and online presence within Jackson School brand guidelines.

Working in partnership with the Director of the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship, the ILC Program Manager assists in the design, management, and execution of the virtual and in-person components of the program. Oversees partnerships with other programs both at Yale and globally and is primarily responsible for knowledge retention and management, including publicizing and disseminating knowledge outcomes of the fellowship. Assists with admissions for the Climate Fellows and other ILC programs. Conceptualizes, designs, and organizes events for the program and its partners, including an annual event at COP. Builds relationships with the Climate Fellows to advise and support them during their fellowship experience. Develops and manages the relationship with Climate Fellow alumni.

Essential Duties

1. Oversees the advancement and growth of the program. Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 2. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans. 3. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program. Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program. Responsible for measurements of grant success and related evaluation. 4. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications. Develops and manages the program’s operating budget. 5. Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program. Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted. Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs. 6. Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program. Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. 7. Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program’s website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Superior demonstrated writing and oral presentation skills. Ability to craft and articulate messages for various audiences. Writing sample may be required.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, efficiency, and critical thinking.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated ability in program building and support of educational projects or curriculum.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and network at a high level with faculty, staff, fellows, and other institutional partners.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Previous success in proposal writing and experience in managing donor relations.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Master’s degree in a related field and four years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
