Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a PMO Project Lead to join our Planning and Governance team in Cypress, CA. PMO Assistant position is to assist under the direction of P&G Senior-level project manager/leadership to directly contribute to the success of leading IT project management & program initiatives across all areas of ISD cross-functional teams (Applications, Infrastructure, Cyber Security) of ISD Program Management office (PMO). They will contribute to data compliance and governance to help implement controls across ISD and drive customer centric governance solutions across our products.
What you'll be doing:
- Work closely with cross-functional ISD senior management teams and business partners supporting Applications, Infrastructure and Cyber Security groups in North America to define, develop and drive key business priorities to support divisional operational goals.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing all stages of the project life cycle including project initiation, scope definition, project schedule/cost, roadmaps, defining program ROIs & ensure ability to measure risk and issue management project status reporting, implementation planning, and project closure activities using appropriate methodologies.
- Assist the Project Manager supporting Program and Change management for new construction and modernization projects supporting the operations from small to large scale projects for Yamaha's enterprise.
- Provide IT ‘Customer Centric based project management'- for IT Planning and PMO management of various programs and project management methodologies which include tracking disciplines, KPI measurement/dashboards, and related technology products.
- Assist the Project Manager and align processes, identify project priorities and objectives, resource planning by ensuring effective and efficient allocation of staff resources to the portfolio of projects and departmental goals with Yamaha US overall strategy.
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring and controlling the projects assigned to them. Assist in ensuring that all projects achieve the planned objective/goals and meet customers' expectations. Assist the Project Manager in closely monitoring costs on each project and keep the Project Managers informed of any financial issues. Ensure that estimates at completion are forecasted accurately on a monthly basis for all projects.

- Scrutinize each completed project, identify the lessons learned or overlooked, then incorporate the new knowledge into day-to-day operations, and future projects of similar stature.
- Collaborate with and persuade across, multiple areas with ISD leaders, and Business Unit stakeholders about the benefits of leveraging enterprise data, platforms, tools, learnings, to benefit the entire organization.
- Develop collaborative relationships/partnerships with key technical/non-technical stakeholders to gain concurrence, input, and execution of process improvement and business automation initiatives.
- SAP enterprise scale end-to-end ERP program management experience desired (Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Legal, ISD) and other web applications B2B, B2C, CRM, Warranty, and Analytics (BI).
- Assist with training and development of new process improvements and advancements in the IT Program Management Office:
- Collaborates, advises and Leads the IT Program Management team
- Guides the PMO team to keep projects on track and in scope
- Partner with the functional teams on project demand and schedules
- Provide management reporting & analytics services for the IT Leadership Team
- Establish and ensure appropriate Planning & Governance functions for the group or program, in accordance with enterprise policies, processes and practices. Manage to the success of the “IT Project & Program Portfolio” allowing the operating model and governance practices to deliver strategic & operational initiatives and evolve further to meet higher business value outcomes against evolving business requirements.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards, best practices, business process and technology used withing the department to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, vendor contractual requirements procedures, processes, and standards.
- Responsible for evaluating IT suppliers and overseeing regular interaction and long-term relationships with vendors toward the aim of optimizing spend, service excellence and risk.
- Collaborate with IT and business functions to assure vendors are effectively managed and contracts are completely, and efficient leverage. Monitor contractual agreements for all IT vendors ensuring compliance and optimizing timing for renewals and renegotiations.

What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience in IT and business/industry. Leading, guiding, and coaching technical professional staff.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization.
- Leadership experience in Project/Program management a plus
- Certifications preferred include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Manager (CPM) or Certified Scrum Master (PMI ACP, or CSM). Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

- Demonstrated success in providing project management leadership, oversight, and guidance to meet corporate policies, practices, and standards.
- The ability to concurrently manage multiple, complex projects and prioritize workloads while working independently within a cross-functional team.
- Full project/program lifecycle experience required SDLC (Waterfall, Agile).
- Review ideas, suggestions, and recommendations for merit and project consideration.
- Cross-functional knowledge of IT technologies applied across modern applications, infrastructure, cyber security, and management.
- Oversee the collection, correlation, and detailed analysis of data to drive business decisions and mitigate risk/loss.
- Proven ability to collaborate with all IT groups including management, applications, infrastructure, cyber security, executive leadership, and business groups/departments.
Pay Range:
- $83,313-146,630
