Based in Buena Park, CA, Studio 60 functions as an in-house creative agency for Yamaha musical instrument and audio/visual products. Our team is responsible for Analytics, Creative, Digital Development, Operations and Media. We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) who will be responsible for gathering project requirements. More specifically, the BA will work closely with internal stakeholders to effectively uncover, define, and address the needs of the business, turn them into project requirements, and lead the implementation of solutions that grow and scale the Yamaha business.
The BA will work with stakeholders from cross functional teams to define and document business processes and software requirements for various initiatives including web services, Oracle ERP system requirements, finance systems, WMS (distribution) system needs, etc. The BA is responsible for identifying, defining, communicating the project needs (alongside the partner) and determining the solution (alongside the Studio 60 Product Owner/Manager), following the project management process and liaising between Development and the partner. The BA will take lead roles in new implementations and be a driving force in managing the project from start to finish.
The BA must be a great communicator, a facilitator, assertive, motivated, creative, accountable, and able to balance efficiency with effectiveness. The BA will serve as the subject matter expert for the core enterprise applications. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are a necessity.
Here's What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the core enterprise applications, partner with various marketing/department managers and other subject matter experts to understand current and future state business opportunities as well as continued process improvement initiatives, including application roadmap development.
- Understands internal customer needs to ensure programs align to long term strategies and goals.
- Provides input to project scope, milestones, phases, and elements.
- Responsible for adherence to SDLC processes.
- Predict and determine customer needs and work with various Yamaha departments and Digital Development leadership to develop innovative solutions to meet them.
- Author or contribute to both program-level and user-level software related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manuals.
- Involved with tracking project progress and communicating progress to stakeholders.
- Work with various Yamaha teams to implement system procedures and changes.
- Works concurrently on multiple and complex projects.
- Perform other duties and participate in projects as needed.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table
Required:
- 5 years of Business Analysis experience with experience in leading requirement gathering meetings with all levels of leadership.
- 3 years of experience working on complex projects involving websites.
- 3 years of experience working on custom or third-party applications and/or API integration projects.
- Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision and work through problems and develop creative solutions.
- Experience with enterprise level system support and development.
- Ability to navigate and understand YCA business systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas.
- Experience in analysis and documentation.
- Establishes or follows prioritization process to drive work and has a sense of urgency about getting work completed.
- Looks for and seizes opportunities to do more or to do things more efficiently.
- Works effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative team-based environment.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and best practices.
- Gather, relate, and assess data and provide recommendations by applying business knowledge and critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting; with a variety of departments and disciplines such as the internal Studio 60 teams, Integrated Marketing, Finance, and Development groups conveying a positive and service-oriented attitude.
- Understand and suggests how software systems and technology solve business problems.
- A “Can Do” attitude when helping other team members with their tasks to successfully complete a project.
Preferred:
- 3 or more years in website experience.
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles.
- Cloud technology experience.
- Experience with Workfront or other technical project management software.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or business-related field.
