Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning and upkeep of all equipment, machinery, & facilities within the factory as well as overseeing the Maintenance Team.
Responsibilities
Complete preventative maintenance tasks on time
Maintain & log maintenance schedules & SOPs
Troubleshoot & repair industrial machinery
Plan, price out, procure, & complete repairs
Familiarity with maintaining PLCs & automated packaging lines
Ensures shop & work area cleanliness, organization, & tool control
Conduct inspections of the facilities/machinery to identify & resolve issues
Drive a fork truck/scissor lift
Always follow safe practices/company policies
Monitors work in progress to ensure that food safe maintenance & sanitary procedures are used
Actively mentors, coaches, & hold accountable maintenance team members as it relates to safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, & team morale
Work with management & safety committee teams to ensure clean, sanitary, & working environment
Provide continuous process improvement & efficiencies within maintenance operations by enhancing existing procedures, developing new procedures, & documenting appropriate action items
Required Skills/Abilities
Familiarity with Electrical systems, Glycol Chillers, Air Compressors, Boilers, automation machinery & PLC technology
Proven managerial experience of six - ten years in a lead/management position
Understanding of industrial machinery & knowledge of pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, facilities maintenance, HVAC, refrigeration, & energy conservation
Working knowledge of factory machines & equipment which may include liquid filling, vertical form fill/seal, capping, labeling, case packing, sealing, palletizing, steamers, roasters, grain milling, conveyor systems, inkjet & laser coding, PLC’s, VFD’s, servos & robotics
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, welding & fabrication, painting, & general parts specifications necessary to effect predictive maintenance & urgent/emergent repairs
Strong communication skills & interpersonal skills adequate to work & communicate in a multi-culture work environment
Highly effective multi-tasker that must be able to work under pressure
Excellent time management skills & knowledge of Microsoft office
A flexible schedule to adequately manage a 24/7 factory & serves as direct member of the safety committee
Ensure compliance with current federal, state, & local regulations in all aspects of the Maintenance Department i.e., FDA, BOLI, EEOC, ADA, etc.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience of four to six years of maintenance management experience in a documented food-related industry position may be accepted
Supervising Electrician License highly preferred
Thorough knowledge of electrical and/or electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation & application of electrical and/or electronic equipment such as motors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers & electronic inspection units
