Summary
Drives activities of the AME team to achieve launch performance objectives core to the AME function. Works with BU Leaders, Operations Management, and other functional leaders to plan, mentor, assess, and lead continuous improvement of internal and external requirements for launch. Investigates, reviews, and implements new assembly methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Ensures that all areas of advanced manufacturing engineering are working collectively towards the goals defined for a successful launch.
Main Responsibilities
Work Experience
- 5 to 9 years or more experience Automotive Manufacturing required
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Trained
- Assembly processing skills: Line balance, Automation, Design Feasibility, PLC programming, etc
- Thorough understanding of equipment design concepts
- Mechanical Aptitude for problem solving
- Experience with various manufacturing technologies (injection molding, sonic / hot plate/ IR welding, mechanical fastening, packaging, foam, FIP and Slush)
- Experience with supplier and customer communication (BMW experience highly preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or Related Degree)
