Position Summary:
The Quality Technician will be responsible for providing assembly line support in the form of mechanical assembly troubleshooting, hole thread tapping, broken bolt extractions, and root cause investigations into supplier component issues as well as final Inspection duties to support the regular assembly processes. Successful candidate will assume full responsibility for offline rework & repair spaces utilized by production and quality departments including vehicle status tracking and independent repair confirmations.
Additional responsibilities will include conducting torque wrench calibrations on a regular schedule to prevent usage of out-of-calibration equipment and coordinating with Supervisor or Manager to support all aspects of Quality at the internal and Supplier level.
Job Functions:
- Answers Assembly line calls for issues regarding part problems. Investigates problem and implements immediate actions to quarantine.
- Conduct root cause analysis to help identify sources of variation or errors from both supplier components and internal manufacturing processes.
- Performs mechanical diagnostics and repair of Agricultural Tractors & UTVs
- Maintain equipment records by recording service and repairs
- Maintains equipment appearance by cleaning and/or painting as needed
- Generates reports for Reject Notices, inventory adjustments, rework completion rates and supplier defects. (All internal departments affected will be copied for communication).
- Daily review and disposition of non-conforming product identified by the assembly process including database registration and email communications to suppliers/team as needed.
- Participate effectively in the Quality Process Improvement team for continuous improvement.
- Communicate to establish clear understanding of YA expectations and objectives
- Communicate and work well with others to support a team environment.
- Maintains appropriate documentation to meet the company’s QMS requirements.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the job assignment as assigned by the Team Leader, Quality Supervisor, and/or Quality Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong technical knowledge in Hydraulics, Electrical, and Diesel Engines
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Functional with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint).
- Strong knowledge of Calibration and/or Certification of various torque wrenches.
- Ability to schedule, perform, report, and track Process Audits.
- Ability to develop and optimize available resources to achieve objectives outside of training/knowledge base
- Adaptability to ever changing work environment and conditions
- Adept & Comfortable working with personnel from varied corporate levels and cultural backgrounds.
- Machining knowledge recommended, but not required
- Paint methods knowledge recommended, but not required
- Able to travel (Domestic).
Job Qualifications:
- Associate or Technical degree or related work experience in Quality, Machining, or a related field preferred.
- Broad knowledge of by use of hand gages including Micrometers, Calipers, height gages, etc.
- Strong GD&T capabilities and engineering drawing interpretation skills
- Ability to use tools for rework (wrench, drills, grinders, torque wrenches, etc.)
- CMM and/or Faro Arm measurement preferred
- ASQ Certification preferred.
