What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Sales Associate position at Yatco?
The Sales Associate is responsible for performing all cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and customer service duties in a manner that will develop good customer relations, build store sales, and protect store assets. The goal is to provide all of our customers with a service level that exceeds their expectations. The Sales Associate supports the company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service and adhering to company policies.
Specific Responsibilities:
Customer Satisfaction:
- Friendly, outgoing attitude with customers.
- Project a respectful, professional manner at all times.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked store as directed by management.
- Comply with company policies, federal and state laws regarding age-restricted sales of products such as tobacco and lottery.
- Follow Safe Food Handling Procedures in accordance with company, Board of Health and industry standards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Notify management of any policies that are unclear, or not being followed by other employees.
Store Operations:
- Maintain store cleanliness standards.
- Tend to outside store cleanliness, such as changing trash barrels, cleaning pumps, sweeping, etc.
- Replenish stock at a level to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Complete duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain safe conditions and follow procedures in times of inclement weather, damage to the property or unforeseen emergencies.
- Report to management any equipment or facility condition(s) that is in need of repair or creates a hazard.
Required Skills:
- Experience in retail sales preferred.

Job Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach and lift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
