What are the responsibilities and job description for the Match Advisor position at Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking a Match Advisor (case worker) to enhance the quality and increase the longevity of Big and Little matches while retaining volunteers in the agency family. The ideal candidate will implement time-tested strategies designed to keep our children safe in mentoring relationships, provide information on current matches and waiting children to the Program Manager, and contribute to volunteer retention by providing quality, customer service-oriented match support to volunteers, parents, and children. The Match Advisor will also consistently, meticulously, thoroughly, and succinctly record in a database, match progress, and match support contacts, conduct follow-up contacts with parents, children, and volunteers as outlined in the program manual, and attend agency activities for face-to-face contact with volunteers and children. The position will meet with the supervisor on a weekly basis to track match health, and contact rate, and inspire solutions and strategies for struggling matches. The Match Advisor will also maintain and document a 90% contact rate of matched Littles, Bigs, and Parents. A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of two years of experience in the social service or mentoring fields preferred. Experience developing solutions to difficult and emotional issues and experience working with children and volunteers is also preferred. Each employee at YBBBS is subject to a criminal background search that includes the employee obtaining a Level 1 Clearance Card from the AZ DPS. In addition to the criminal history search, the applicant must also undergo a urinalysis drug screen, positive feedback from references provided by the applicant, positive feedback from former employers, and screening through the national database of sex offenders as well as any public social media.
