POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our client’s design and engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be a key product design leader, driving the creation of new product concepts and ensuring the seamless integration of design, engineering, and technology. As a manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, managing cross-functional collaboration, and spearheading research and development initiatives to propel the company's future growth and prosperity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is a senior-level manager/principal position. You will be responsible for:

  • Blend engineering, technology, and design expertise to develop world-class innovative solutions, delighting customers and driving business growth.

  • Manage the creative process from ideation to execution, ensuring high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functional designs.

  • Oversee the execution of models and prototypes, enabling fast iteration and learning to create exceptional products.

  • Manage design projects, cultivating a culture of creativity and innovation within the teams.

  • Collaborate closely with various departments, including engineering, product management, marketing, and displays/demo team, ensuring seamless integration and synergy across the organization.

  • Manage resource allocation, projects, and schedules for the Industrial Design team.

  • Lead research and development efforts, exploring innovative ideas and technologies contributing to the company's success.

  • Onboard new processes, tools, and technology to enhance the quality and speed of the prototyping process for Industrial Design project.

  • Conduct research on future technologies, ideas, and capabilities, staying ahead of industry trends and developments.

  • Perform benchmarking and competitive analysis to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge in the market.


POSITION DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering degree.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cross-functional product development.

  • Passion for innovative design with strong technical capability, demonstrated through a track record of successful product launches.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, consumer electronics, and quality systems is a plus.

  • A dual degree in Industrial Design or Experience in product design, consumer electronics, and manufacturing is desirable but not required.
