Job Posting for Juvenile Care Worker at Yellowstone County
Position starts as overnights, after 2-week training period. Work includes overnights, weekends, holidays, and at times forced overtime.
Responsible for providing counseling, basic care and behavioral management for youth placed in County youth care facilities by a referring agency.
Conducts youth intake interviews and continues to regularly document youth behaviors and emotional status;
Provides basic care and supervision to youth;
Monitors and assesses the behavioral and emotional characteristics of referred youth and provides counseling or additional supervision to prevent self-harm as needed;
Regularly communicates orally and in writing any changes to youth to all members of the youth care facility.
Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; or
Associate's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; and
Two (2) years' experience working with and counseling youth in crisis; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling four (4) years.
