Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Alumni Affairs plays an integral role in creating and managing alumni relationships that are diverse and inclusive, leads to active volunteer participation and donor engagement with Cardozo Law.
Position Responsibilities:
- Helps to manage and maintain active engagement of the Alumni Association's more than 15,000 graduates and its 20 subcommittees including: affinity groups, practice area groups and regional chapters. Cultivate relationships that align with the annual strategic objectives of the Office of Institutional Advancement, that lead to active donor giving to Cardozo and remind alumni that Cardozo is a lifelong resource.
- Manage logistics, solicits gifts (where applicable) and collaborate with Office of Special Events, when necessary, in the planning of alumni and donor cultivation events including but not limited to Dean's Council Reception, Reunions, BALLSA Celebration, Women Lead the Law Series, regional chapter Meet-Ups, professional networking events and parlor events.
- Develop donor relationships. Supports RISE UP for Cardozo, Cardozo's Capital Campaign, and other fundraising campaigns.
- Create strategy and collaborate with the Office of Communications on driving alumni communications including the Alumni In Brief, Cardozo For Your Coffee, Class Notes, monthly alumni spotlights and hashtag campaigns to expand Cardozo's footprint on social media. Create and track social media content designed to expand alumni activity and oversee the alumni pages on the Cardozo Law website. Follow alumni trends.
- Manage and track alumni engagement through Cardozo Connects, an alumni online directory and activity portal. Create strategy for increasing alumni involvement that helps to increase alumni networking opportunities, manage alumni groups that provide alumni with the resources needed for the department to meet annual engagement goals.
- Collaborates with the Office of Career Services to identify and recruit alumni mentors for the Cardozo Alumni Mentor Program
Experience & Educational Background:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum five years of experience in alumni relations in a university setting or comparable, fundraising, leadership boards, events, Diversity and Inclusion, community building and volunteer management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Forward thinking, can work collaboratively as well as independently, can exercise discretion and good judgement.
- Strong written and verbal skills. Can develop a creative, outside of the box strategy for digital communications and social media campaigns.
- Ability to work evenings and early morning events, and occasionally travel.
