What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard 4: Harris YMCA position at YMCA - CHARLOTTE?
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Lifeguard 4 is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
- Responsible for the safety of facility patrons
- Enforces all of the facility’s policies, rules, and regulations
- Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies
- Responds to patron inquiries and concerns and provides Branch information as needed
- Inspects the aquatic facility on a daily schedule and reports unsafe conditions and equipment to supervisor
- Completes records and reports regarding the following: hourly patron attendance, water chemistry, incidents and accidents
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service training
- Carries out additional duties as assigned by supervisor
- Assist with the Community Outreach Campaign.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Current YMCA On The Guard II certification or American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (American Red Cross Lifeguards must successfully complete a crossover course to YMCA On The Guard II within 6 months of employment and must maintain YMCA certification)
- Current CPR (American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or National Safety Council Level II)
- Current First Aid (American Red Cross Community First Aid and Safety or National Safety Council)
- Must obtain Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training within 60 days of employment
- Must complete YMCA of Greater Charlotte New Staff Orientation within 60 days of employment
- Must complete Bloodborne Pathogens Training within 60 days of employment and recertify annually
- Must present a professional, mature image, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills
