What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Director position at YMCA of Delaware?
Essential Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Develops and manages budgets for all fitness program areas (excluding youth). Provide monthly financial and program statistical reports.
- Hires, trains, supervises and coaches staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilities communications and provides leadership to full and part time staff positions within the department. Models relationship building skills (including listen first).
- Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of staff.
- Ensures program standards are met with the highest quality and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Fitness Management, Health/Physical Education, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or equivalent.
- Four or more years of program experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Certified personal trainer certification such as ACE or NASM or other recognized PT certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-Lingual
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification, and or related job training in leadership development
