What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welcome Center Intern - Dye Clay - YMCA position at YMCA OF FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST?
The mission of the Y is to engage the community in activities that help them to learn, grow and thrive. In order to connect members to the Y, it is necessary to engage with them immediately after they join to get them involved in the Y in the way that gets them started on meeting their personal goals.
As an Intern in the welcome center, the ultimate goal is to connect new members with the Y. Getting them to come in and meet with a trainer to learn how to properly and safely utilizing the machines as well as establishing their goals so we can help them take a step closer in the right direction.
The intern will make contact all new members to welcome them to the YMCA, engage with them to determine how the Y can help them and encourage them to take advantage of their first complimentary session with a personal trainer. In doing so, we are helping them on the first step of reaching their goal rather than changing their mind and cancelling their membership and their opportunity to make a positive change in their lives.
Qualifications and Desired skills:
- Good organizational and execution skills, focus on detail
- Strong team player who can work independently
- Enjoys collaborating and takes directions from other team mates
- High level of written and oral communication.
- Good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent customer service required
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Intern would provide members with a warm welcome when they arrive and scan them in
- Make sure member knows where they are going and if not showing them where
- Answer phone with a friendly and welcoming voice
