What are the responsibilities and job description for the Y Kids Supervisor: Harris YMCA position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the direction of the Y Kids Director and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Y Kids Supervisor is responsible for the welfare, safety, and satisfaction of members and participants in our child watch area.
- Assist in development, implementation and evaluation of all child watch activities.
- Monitor parent/child feedback.
- Assist Child Development Director with rostering personnel and volunteers for given shift.
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings with ECD Director
- Develop monthly themed curriculum.
- Ensure that assigned area has adequate staff at all times when Child watch coordinator is absent
- Ensure safe and healthy child watch environment.
- Attend required meetings and trainings as are assigned by Child Development Director.
- Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness standards by compiling a supply list for housekeeping and craft needs.
- Provide superior customer service to members and their children by assisting with problem solving and conflict situations.
- Assist in the leadership of the Annual Community Outreach Campaign.
- Assist in the coordination of special staff, member, and volunteer events.
- Administer quality tool procedures (Quality Standards and Developmentally appropriate practices).
- Participate in branch management functions and planning.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years prior experience working with children
- Current CPR/First Aid and Blood borne certifications.
- Knowledge of YMCA programs, philosophies and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with members/children/staff
- Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills to aide in planning in the child watch area.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative and independent thinking
- Ability to work for a minimum of 24 hours per week for PM Shift. or
- Ability to work for a minimum of 31 hours per week for AM Shift.
- Ability to work in supervisory role and resolve conflict situations.
- Ability to work as a team member
