The YMCA is a community-driven organization committed to nurturing the potential of every individual, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We are seeking an AI Specialist to be responsible for developing & maintaining AI-driven conversational interfaces that will play a crucial role in enhancing user experience, improving efficiency, and providing valuable support to digital platforms. The majority of work can be conducted remotely, with meetings/check-ins at YMCA facilities.

Starting salary is $23/hour for this full-time role. Benefits for FT employees include free family membership, health & dental insurance, time-off benefits, program discounts, and optional retirement savings plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement AI-driven conversational interfaces using cutting-edge technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored AI solutions. Continuously improve and optimize AI performance through feedback, analysis and updates.
  • Utilize natural language processing (NLP) techniques to enhance the conversational abilities of the AI Assistant. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in NLP to integrate relevant technologies into our systems.
  • Create user-friendly and intuitive conversational interfaces for effective communication. Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to refine and improve the AI Assistant's interactions.
  • Analyze user interactions and data to identify patterns and trends. Implement data-driven improvements to enhance the AI Assistant's performance and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate the AI Assistant seamlessly with existing systems and platforms. Ensure compatibility and interoperability with other tools and applications. Provide training and documentation for YMCA staff on using and managing LLMs.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of the AI Assistant, addressing issues promptly. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI-driven conversational interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning concepts.
  • Understanding of NLP and machine learning principles (prompt design).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
