What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director I position at YMCA Of Greater Hartford?
The Program Director I develops and manages a variety of programs that are responsive to member and community needs and ensure premier program quality and innovation. Responsible for the overall management of assigned programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manage the daily operations and personnel of assigned department and programs. Recruit, train, supervise and develop staff members and volunteers to conduct programs and services. Monitor and evaluate performance.
2. Develop and implement youth and adult programs and prepare revenue and expense projections. Prepare detailed cost-benefit analysis of programs, monitor financial indicators and member feedback to assess program effectiveness.
3. Conducts hands-on programs approximately 20-25% of time.
4. Cultivate relationships with parents and members to develop quality programs that are consistent with the mission and values. Develop effective communications.
5. Oversee programs to ensure effective programs that meet community needs. Identify collaborative efforts to utilize facilities and services with local schools and organizations.
6. Manage facility usage and rentals. Coordinate and communicate all programs and services within assigned program areas.
7. Maintain comprehensive calendar of branch activities, events and rentals.
8. Identify program opportunities and sources of funding for programs.
9. Plan and promote seasonal programs such as youth programs, camp, leagues tournaments and contests.
10. Provide leadership to existing and new programs and initiatives for the branch.
11. Plan and implement fundraising events. Participate in branch and association fundraising campaigns.
12. Consistently provide friendly, courteous assistance exceeding customer expectations every day, which includes building and maintaining healthy professional relationships with customers, staff, host agencies and the local community.
13. Support and contribute to a safe, clean environment for staff and customers.
14. Attend all branch and Metropolitan meetings as assigned.
15. Maintain knowledge of association policies and procedures, risk management and safety practices and applicable laws.
16. Support member service personnel in providing member information, tours, telephone support, etc.
17. Serve on branch and Association committees and contribute to trainings and special events as required.
18. Perform other related duties as assigned.
