The Art Instructor will be responsible for teaching art classes to individuals with a variety of skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art and teaching, and will be able to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach art classes to individuals of all skill levels
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the YMCA's mission and values
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
- Communicate with students and their families about class schedules, expectations, and progress
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements
- Previous experience teaching art classes to individuals of all ages and skill levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Knowledge of various art techniques and mediums
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
