Job Posting for Family Program Director - Camp Campbell at YMCA OF SILICON VALLEY
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Director will assist with year-round family camp in a residential camp setting. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting with the rental group programs and other camp programs when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed; Reviews and evaluates staff performance; Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals; Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
Planning, organization, and facilitation, of year-round youth and teen, residential, day and adventure camp programming, year-round youth sports programming.
Oversee camp transportation department and work with departments to meet all programs transportation needs.
Assist with the branch's campaign effort.
Participate and lead routine staff meetings to inform staff of any changes/updates in program, and to discuss any issues currently going on in the program.
Responsible for overseeing program staff and participants in all program areas.
Insure the inventory, restocking maintenance, organization, repair and cleanliness of all program equipment and supplies.
Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establish new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
Manages the day to day responsibilities within the sports program -- schedules, setting up, rosters, practices, etc.
Respond to all member, parent, and community inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
Secure and schedule athletic fields and facilities as necessary.
Contribute creatively in overall program development of all camp areas.
Provide appropriate support and evaluation for each staff member in programs.
Use established system for communication with other camp departments.
Provides overnight on-call supervision as needed throughout the program.
Maintain up to date contact information and availability for all program staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
