What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Support Program Manager position at YMCA of the North?

1. Job Summary:

The Youth Support Program Manager provides daily direction and supervision in the designated youth services or youth program. The incumbent assists in developing, delivering, and administering community and facility based Intervention programs. The incumbent is responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing team members.

2. Essential Functions:

· Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop team members and volunteers.

· Assist in developing and managing youth intervention services, programs and activities.

· May assist in writing and assembling grant proposals.

· Manage the program specific budget s to assure that financial and program service goals are attained.

· Perform required administrative duties for the program.

· Communicate and interpret Youth Intervention Services programs, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to all department staff, volunteers, and Y members.

· Delivers a high level of service for all program participants.

· Participates in a staff leadership role for the Annual Campaign as defined by the Executive Director or Program Executive.

3. Relationships:

This position reports to the Youth Support Program Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff, members and the community. This position requires regular interaction with youth, families and community partners from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

4. Qualifications:

Required

· Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Human Services, Social Work, Corrections or Youth Development) or equivalent experience.

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in youth development to include case management, working with diverse, low income and at risk youth or related human service experience.

· Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience or leading project work teams.

· Demonstrated professionalism in the areas of time management and communication.

· Ability to effectively problem solve utilizing all resources available.

· Must be able to work in an independent and self-directed manner.

· Experience working with diverse populations.

· Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite (Word and Excel)

· Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certification with the first 30 days of employment

· Ability to transport youth to meetings and activities.

Preferred

· Multilingual

· Prior fundraising experience

5. Work Conditions:

· Must be able to travel locally to attend meetings and training.

· Ability to perform a variety of physical activities with program participants which may include but are not limited to walking, standing for long periods of time, running, throwing and lifting up to 50lbs.

6. Additional Notes:

This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive. Salary : $45,800 - $58,000
