POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cabin Counselor/Activity Specialist position is responsible the safety and well-being of 6-7 campers in their cabin.
The Cabin Counselor/Activity Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading activities for campers in large and small group settings in one of our six activity areas;
The Cabin Counselor/Activity Specialist role is a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide instruction, supervision and safety of all campers in program area and cabins
· Create, plan and implement age appropriate lesson plans
· Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available
· Assist campers with achieving their set SMART goals
· Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; meal times; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.
· Attend and participate in All Staff Training and additional training if necessary (Waterfront and/or Challenge Course)

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires the ability to lead and instruct a group of campers in sports program. Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older and have knowledge in safety, care of equipment, inventory, skill instruction, and progressive age appropriate programming. He or she must be able to identify age and grade level characteristics of campers. Previous camp experience or experience working with groups of children is preferred. Training and certification will be provided during All Staff Training.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel & bend (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
2. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
3. Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
4. Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
5. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT:
· Adhere to policies related to boundaries with campers.
· Attend required abuse risk management training.
· Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising campers.
· Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
· Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $1,120.00 - $1,400.00 per month
