Join our dynamic team as an Afterschool Academy Site Director and be a driving force in youth development and community impact! The YMCA of Greater Birmingham is seeking leaders to oversee our onsite school program and supervise staff. As a Site Director, you will play a vital role in upholding the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility while making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
This is a leadership position and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to put their team management skills to good use. The Site Director’s main responsibility is to ensure that all the children in their program enjoy a safe and fun experience while within the YMCA’s care.
This part-time opportunity requires you to be available Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session. Occasional morning meetings occur and are scheduled in advance.
Site Directors work under the direction of an Area Director. Site Directors work out of their assigned school location and interface with school administrators often. They are expected to uphold the YMCA’s standards of safety, create exciting activity plans, and maintain a service-focused attitude and atmosphere.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in education or other relevant field preferred. High School diploma required.
2. 1-3 Prior experience in education, recreation, physical education, teaching or childcare preferred.
3. Minimum age of 21 years old.
4. Prior experience in staff supervision, program, and fiscal management 5. Successful completion of background and Child Abuse and Neglect screening. 6. Must be customer service focused with strong communication skills both orally and written with solid computer skills.
7. Acquire and maintain the following certifications prior to the start date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI): 1st Aid/ CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
8. Requisite Risk Management/Safety Online Training Modules (completed prior to the start date and repeated annually).
