Job Description

Responsible for the safety and any potential claims for the Association. This includes but not limited to property, general liability, auto, sexual abuse, molestation and flood. The ideal candidate will work closely with Branch Executives to delivery of a high-quality safety and risk management programs that is fully integrated into the BVFYMCA’s mission, and strategic and operating plans. Programming shall include all aspects of the business, including our volunteers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or a combination of related education and experience, preferred
  • Four (4) years’ experience in the supervision and management of programs, systems, procedures and guidelines
  • Highly effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organization and time management skills
  • Understanding the role of volunteerism at the YMCA, preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
  • Current with Praesidium guidelines and trainings
Essential Functions
  • Conduct monthly branch and program visits and safety audits to record safety to departments including but not limited to, Child Care, Sports and Fitness
  • Visual bus inspections, child labor law files; CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Ensure employees and volunteers are compliant with Praesidium training
  • Conduct trainings to all staff specific to their department on an annual basis
  • Assure compliance with state and local regulations. Ensure YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed for employees and volunteers
  • Cooperates with ODJFS staff for required reports and inspections; respond to inspection requests within required timeframe
  • Complete all administrative duties necessary to ensure a safe, high-quality program in a timely manner based on policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Works with others to determine current needs for volunteers and to develop strategies for volunteer recruitment and placement (not including policy volunteers)
  • Recruits diverse volunteer pools across multiple dimensions of diversity. Screens volunteers and forwards copies of applications to appropriate supervisors. Onboards and develops staff and volunteers for success. Recognizes volunteer contributions
  • Identifies and builds relationships with internal and/or external partners or key stakeholders (e.g., local high schools and colleges) to support programs or projects. Makes presentations to outside groups regarding the benefits of volunteering at the YMCA
  • Maintains volunteer files, tracks and reports volunteer hours, and generates volunteer reports on a monthly basis

Utilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

Required Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or a combination of related education and experience, preferred

Salary : $63,000 - $75,000
