This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The SRO Housing Director at the Merrimack Valley YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and inclusive while also managing high-quality, resident-focused transitional programs.
The SRO Housing Director manages all aspects of our 73 unit Single Room Occupancy residence, located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Merrimack Valley YMCA Lawrence Branch, fostering a culture of inclusivity, support, transition, and community among our residents.
1. Oversee all day-to-day operations of the SRO Housing Residence, ensuring all regulatory guidelines, inspection criteria, safety guidelines are met
2. Work directly with the leadership of the City of Lawrence Housing Authority to provide a resident-centered approach to case management that demonstrates and promotes progress through supportive resources that address the basic needs of our residents.
3. Prepare concise reporting on state compliance, ensuring all audits and reporting mechanisms are on-time and that we are in full compliance with all guidelines.
4. Manage part-time staff that include case worker(s), maintenance staff and security staff, holding all SRO team members accountable to their responsibilities, execute performance reviews, and work with senior leadership to provide development opportunities for continued growth.
5. Manage vendor relationships that provide SRO services, including security and pest control
6. Cultivate new and existing partnerships that will provide resources to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
7. Work with senior management on budgeting and manage monthly finances
8. Collaborate with our Development team to cultivate philanthropic support for our SRO
9. Serve on the Lawrence Branch leadership team, collaboratively work with all Directors from the Lawrence Team to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcome-forall culture at the Merrimack Valley YMCA Lawrence Branch.

Provides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and support.

Develops plans and manages best practices through engagement of team. Effectively creates and manages budgets. Holds staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.

Utilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
