Designer / Draftsperson - Help Wanted

Progressive Manufacturing Company in Central Kansas

We're looking for a professional Designer / Draftsperson who has advanced knowledge in fabricated metal product design and manufacturing. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who has 5 or more years of experience in related design and drafting and is capable of managing projects from concept to completion with general direction. Engineering library management skills and excellent drafting abilities and discipline are required.

The person in this position will work on projects alone and with other internal personnel in support of our various product lines and in the development of new products. The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical system and component design and the preparation and review of engineering drawings and other outputs. Project management from conception to finished goods with skilled application of problem-solving skills is necessary.

Along with support of current and future products, the successful applicant will also perform tooling design and manage the tooling approval and documentation process.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical design, tool design, or drafting or comparable discipline.
• Experience with mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Solid Works 3D modeling is preferred.
• Applicable hands-on manufacturing and engineering experience.
• Ability to apply problem solving skills to technical challenges.
• Ability to conceptualize and provide detailed designs conforming to internal and external specifications.
• Ability to develop detailed part designs and assembly drawings and create complete manufacturing bills of material.
• Work with support staff to complete projects.
• Must be approachable and a team player.
