Wage:  $22.00 per hour or negotiated rate based on prior experience

·        Daily Pay – Employee’s option to work today get paid today

·        401K – Company matching up to 4% (if elected)

·        Health Savings Account (HSA) – (depending on plan selected)

·        Paid holidays include: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (time and a half for worked holidays)

Essence of Position

Responsible for all aspects of payroll processing and related compliance; including, but not limited to the company’s federal and state mandated records policies regarding employment.  Maintains and troubleshoots Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and related applications, supporting internal users with same.

Tasks of Position

The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business. All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company. 

  •  Reporting for assigned work on time, and on a regular basis, prepared to provide excellent service and leadership.
  • Performing payroll and personnel services by completing the following duties personally, or through store level staff:
  • Verifying incoming Associates’ information is complete, accurate, and properly stored in various human resource systems used to manage employee pay and benefits.
  • Performing the majority of data input associated with various payroll and employment related transactions; including, but not limited to: state unemployment insurance inquiries, garnishments, hand checks, off-schedule payrolls, compensation management, and various special payment requests.
  • Maintaining, updating, and auditing of databases in various HRIS applications used for human resource management.
  • Creating and distributing payroll and associated human resources information reports to various departments and store management upon request.
  • Reviewing and accepting all self-service transactions submitted through Yoke’s HRIS systems; including, but not limited to new hires, terminations, records updates, store manager self-service requests and associate self-service record changes submitted via various channels.
  • Researching and verifying payroll and all associated human resource department recordkeeping is performed and retained in compliance with federal, state, municipal laws and various company policies.
  • Supporting requests made from within the company regarding payroll and policy related questions - in accordance with the most current company policy as well as federal and state specific legal requirements.
  • Notifying users of any HRIS system changes, upgrades, maintenance issues or payroll related matters to ensure understanding and provide troubleshooting in the event it becomes necessary.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources staff and the CIO on various internal and external technical support sources to configure, test and/or troubleshoot systems performance for the company.
  • Collaborating with the CFO on various payroll and accounting processes and reports.
  • Participating in the evaluation and implementation of technology which will advance Yoke’s capability to support and reward its workforce effectively and most efficiently.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Three to five years payroll and accounting experience/education is preferred.
  • Strong systems orientation, with experience using business payroll or accounting software.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with multiple payroll, HRIS, or other like systems is a plus.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations

Most positions within Yoke’s require physical effort to varying degrees. As such, associates are expected to be mindful of practicing Yoke’s safety standards at all times. This may include using personal protective equipment when and where required, understanding ergonomic safety, chemical hazards, safe lifting techniques, lockout/tag out procedures, and emergency protocol. All associates are required to report accidents within 24 hours.
