CORRECTIONS OFFICER – YORK COUNTY

York County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Full-Time Corrections Officers to work in the county correctional facility in Alfred, Maine. Correctional Officers are responsible for providing high quality direct supervision, custody and care of inmates.

York County is seeking individuals who are at least 18 years of age, have a clean background record, successfully pass the State ALERT test within a year of hire, and attend the Basic Correctional Academy (5-week course). Applicants are hired and paid while attending the academy.

Pay: Starting Pay FT $18.67/hr plus $3.00/hr ARPA = $21.67 hourly with Shift Differentials (once certified): $3.00/hr 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.; $2.00/hr 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.; $2.00/hr weekend differential. Additional Compensation for those applicants with more than 1 year experience in Corrections and a current Maine certificate.
