Primary Function :
Manage all aspects of K-12 operational duties in the school setting in the absence of the Principal or Assistant Principal.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent and some previous office experience.
- Proficiency in use of word processing software and initiative to learn other computer programs as required.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment.
- Exhibits use of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to converse with members of the general public in a pleasant and effective manner.
- Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Hold a postgraduate professional license in school administration and shall have completed those courses at the graduate level that are pertinent to the assignment
- Have prior school administrative experience
- Have demonstrated professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel, students, parents, and members of the community
- Sufficient mobility to perform hall and school ground monitoring activities.
- Possess high moral standards and integrity
Performance Responsibilities :
- Provide management and leadership in the K-12 setting consistent with state law and division policy
- Ensure appropriate student conduct consistent with school standards and division policies
- Provide management and leadership necessary to maintain a positive school climate
- Supervise staff
- Initiate and engage in timely communication with the building principal and school board office staff
- Resolve conflicts and manage crises
- Exhibit effective human relations and communication skills
- Perform other duties as assigned
