The York County Solid Waste Authority has an immediate opening for an experienced Administrative Assistant in our York, PA location. Our mission is to facilitate responsible solid waste management for York County. Our ideal applicant will possess a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in an office setting plus a high school education. This position will provide administrative support for the Authority staff, administer employee insurance benefits, purchase office supplies, manage the electronic filing system, provide clerical support including document preparation and mail distribution and assist with receptionist duties. Other responsibilities include: facilitate maintenance of office equipment, maintain inventory of office supplies, and some basic HR responsibilities. This position will also cross-train at the scalehouse to perform service on an as-needed basis, including directing vehicles, administering cash sales, preparing daily deposits, and preparing daily reports.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, excellent math skills, excellent computer skills plus initiative to identify priorities and achieve them and be able to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Access a must. Knowledge of Mfiles a plus.

We have grown to manage waste reduction, reuse and recycling in addition to converting waste to energy. Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
