We’re looking to expand our team across the board.

York Space Systems is seeking an experienced and proven professional to join our Business Development and Proposal team as a Technical and Business Development Director.  The ideal candidate for this role is creative, organized, able to multitask, with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.  We are looking for someone with substantial experience in the space industry and who is a critical and innovative thinker, with a strong strategic mindset.  The person will be responsible for cultivating and sustaining key customer relationships and will help define competitive space solutions that result in attractive contracts that fit York’s capabilities and business model.

This person oversees government and commercial business development and supports the proposal development process. The ideal candidate will have strong business, technical and industry acumen, and an established record of success in the space systems industry. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  
  • Identify new, emerging opportunities for York’s products and that fit our business model
  • Using established related industry connections: identify, develop, and close new satellite business
  • Build new relationships for York across the national and commercial markets
  • Work with customers to define competitive space solutions that meet their requirements
  • Take on leadership roles in proposing and winning new business 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Robust; able to cope under pressure 
  • Driven to achieve and deliver consistent high-quality results 
  • Excellent business acumen and instinct 
  • Proven business development skills in government and commercial markets 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to influence at all levels 
  • Self-motivated and able to work using own initiative 
  • Good relationship management skills 
  • Works well in a team environment 
  • 10 years of experience in business development for space systems (preferred) OR 7 years of experience with a Master's Degree 
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • United States Citizenship
