Summary:

Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified Iraqi Foreign Language Role-Player to provide language and culture training for Arabic-Iraqi (QI) support in training exercises that will cover a variety of tasks related to Special Operations. The training is designed to give Critical Skills Operators (CSOs) the best possible simulation of real-world objectives, like those encountered while deployed in support of CENTCOM

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

Act in various situations (as a member of the host-nation military, as a linguist/interpreter, as a local concerned citizen, as a military/government leader, as a civilian casualty, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

• Cultural expertise in region associated with Target Language (TL), general knowledge of Middle Eastern and African geopolitical issues, and familiar with idiomatic expressions, colloquialisms, and vocabulary specific to specified TL; the intricacies of sectarian issues within the government, (i.e., Sunni/Shia influences within the Ministries of Defense/Interior)
• Familiarity with the structure and organizational terminology related to the TL military, militia groups, and non-military organizations such as Counterterrorism Service (CTS), Federal Police (FEDPOL), & Popular Mobilization Force (PMF). 
• Familiarity with HN/Coalition military ops and with military terminology of equipment, tactics and procedures is preferred.

English Language Qualifications:

Completed formal study of the English Language and achieved the score indicated on any of the below: 

1) At least ILR level 2 as measured by DoD test.

2) A score of 553 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) PBT, or TOEFL iBT score as follows: 83 minimum overall and at least 20 each in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.

3) A score of no less than 82 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test.

4) At least a proficiency level 2 or Advanced-Low (ACTFL) on an OPI.

Target Language Qualifications:

Role-players will possess general professional proficiency (a language rating of ILR level 2 or ACTFL Advanced-High) or higher in the specified foreign language. 

Proficiency will be demonstrated by one of the following: 

1) Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) or 2-skill OPI from the DLIFLC.

2) An interview certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).

3) Defense Language Proficiency Test.
