*There is a $1000 hiring bonus with $500 paid after first three months worked and $500 paid after 6 months worked
Young Child Academy of Seattle is seeking a qualified educator to join one of our preschool teaching teams. Individuals passionate about the education, development, and care of young children are urged to apply. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and an awareness of early childhood development. A preschool teacher’s primary goal is to ensure the healthy mental and emotional development of the children so that they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education.
Some responsibilities include:
- Along with your teaching team, create developmentally appropriate lessons suitable for preschool children.
- Embrace a variety of methodologies and techniques to engage and teach the children including storytelling, singing, art activities, puppetry, etc.
- Observe each child in work and play and record those observations.
- Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
- Communicate with parents regularly, including providing them daily notes.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom.
Ideal applicants will possess an AA degree in Early Childhood Education or bachelor's degree, as well as relevant classroom experience, preferably working with preschoolers in a large group setting. Our curriculum is child-driven but follows a monthly thematic or investigative approach. Teachers should feel capable of combining these approaches.
The ability to work in a collaborative peer environment is essential, as our school is very team cohesive. We look for candidates passionate about visual and performing arts and those with a strong connection to age-appropriate quality literature.
