Assist the Director of Construction in actions to support the Acquisition of Property process including due diligence steps, conceptual master plans and gross magnitude estimates

Comprehensive Stewardship: Manage with integrity the finances, people, buildings and equipment that have been entrusted to our ministry.

Develop and equip staff to participate in comprehensive stewardship of the Construction Services department.
Capital Budgeting and Reporting

Prepare detailed and comprehensive capital budgets for individual master-planned projects.

Prepare the reports relating to construction progress and cash flow, together with projected expenses, and review/comment on the monthly financial accounting reports for each of the assigned capital projects.
Construction of Projects
-
Within the context of the approved design and capital budget, manage the construction of infrastructure and buildings in a professional manner within the Young Life Construction Management processes.

Develop reasonable project schedules for the duration of the work to allow the field and camp staff to plan and commission the facility for its opening and use.

Construction staff will have completed their work when the projects are commissioned, the punch lists are complete and the as-built drawings are turned over to the camp staff.

Manage the timing of Capital Authorization Requests (“CARs”) for approval including their initiation. The project manager will authorize the contractor to proceed with construction once the CAR is approved.

When construction activity is underway at an existing and operating camp, the project manager must give special consideration to construction activities when guests are in camp. It is the responsibility of the project manager to coordinate with the camp staff for the construction activities during these periods.

Ensure that construction activity is done in a safe manner and that contracted persons conduct themselves in accordance with Young Life’s standards.
Talent Development: Through a consistent and accountable evaluation process, we identify and provide opportunities for staff in continuing education, leadership development, career-pathing and cross-training.

Master Planning of Camps

Ensure the integrity of the master plan is maintained in all field decisions as they relate to location and placement of buildings, infrastructure, theme, and size.

Maintain as-built CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings that will become part of the master plans at the camp and provide an electronic version of the plans to the office of the Director of Construction.
Design of Projects

After gaining the approval from the Camping Coordinator and Director of Construction, engage a local architect to prepare plans for the construction of projects, in conformance with the approved master plan, Young Life standards and approved budget.

Manage the design process to produce a project design that can be constructed within the approved budget.

Manage the completion of the design development, construction drawings and specifications, including all modifications thereof, for the individual projects.

Manage the permitting of the individual projects.
Reporting
-
The project manager receives his or her authority and responsibility directly from and reports directly to the Director of Construction.

The anticipated salary for this position can range from $63,890 - $79,962 depending on relevant experience and education.

Qualifications:
Education

College degree in project management, engineering, building science or architecture required.
Experience Required for the Job

Proven ability to lead teams and direct a project.

Proven track record of managing site development, infrastructure, utility and building projects within the standards of a professional construction project manager.
