Site Maintenance Manager

Overview

This position is responsible for safely operating a water truck to transport water for use at the mine site and for maintaining areas around the mine processing area. These areas include the scalehouse, drainage areas, site exit, and site entrance.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating over the road water trucks and other heavy machinery including kick brooms. He or she will be able to operate the equipment safely and efficiently, as well as follow verbal and written instructions.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Performing detailed workplace inspections and arranging for correction of deficiencies in a timely manner

• Filling truck with water from approved supply sources and transporting to mine site for use in processing and dust control

• Water mine-site roads as needed for dust control

• Perform pre- and post-inspections on truck, pursuant to DOT regulations, company guidelines, and manufacture’s specifications

• Report any issues or concerns with equipment to supervisor immediately

• Load and unload materials onto/from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles as required

• Operate broom/sweeper to limit trackout from the site

• Operate broom/sweeper on parkway as necessary in the event of roadway spills

• Maintain ticket printers

• Ticket trucks as required in relief of scale operator

• Maintain site landscaping

• Maintaining stormwater controls and drainages

• Maintain scalehouse

• Maintain and clean scales as necessary

• Maintain site landscaping

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

• Knowledge of the aggregate, asphalt, and construction industry is preferred

• Experience driving a water truck on roadway construction sites, preferred

Work Requirements

• Class A CDL Driver’s License with Tanker, Air brake and Manual Transmission Endorsements required

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be to work in constant exposure to the outside elements, in all weather conditions

• Ability to understand and work under MSHA rules

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
