Description
General Summary: Benefit Specialist will work closely with the members of the HR & Payroll team to carry out the company and department objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
Benefits:
- Manage Benefits platform, including enrollments/terminations, and COBRA
- Drive benefit education initiatives
- Manage carrier invoices and submit for payment timely.
- Drive open enrollment and benefit initiatives and build strong relationships with brokers and carriers
- Responsible for ACA auditing
- Responsible for annual flu clinic coordination
- Benefit guide updates/revisions and audits
- Deduction, premiums, billed amount, plan type vs enrollment
- Payroll back up
Compliance and Miscellaneous duties:
- Assist with company-wide training initiatives;
- Maintain compliance posters
- Review HR companywide training materials periodically
- Review and approve/deny requests for terminations and rehires
- FMLA
- ACA
- ADA/interactive conversations/reasonable accommodations
- Medicare Part D
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must always conduct themselves in an ethical manner
- Conduct themselves in an ethical manner
- Experience with benefits
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Dependable
- Must maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Must be able to refocus with frequent interruptions and meet established deadlines
- Must communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing
- Must maintain confidentiality
