Director of Finance
Responsible for Your Health Idaho’s (YHI) financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the Executive Director and the executive team to make decisions regarding YHI’s financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance, accounting and management.
Responsibilities (Position may include additional functions not listed)
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the finance and accounting functions to include payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial forecasting, budgeting, account reconciliations, grant administration, and related functions.
- Oversee and/or develop financial management reporting including annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure strong financial controls environment by way of systems that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
- Supervise and maintain payroll operations to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of employees' pay, deductions and benefit payments.
- Develop, implement and manage annual budgets as well as multi-year forecast modeling to support investment decisions and long-term financial sustainability.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive financial analysis program encompassing variance analysis to budgets as well as different “what if” scenarios for future operations.
- Optimize bank relationship and related processes.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
- Oversee the Accounting and Finance team to include hiring, training, development, performance coaching, accountability, defining expectations and related management responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required; Master’s degree preferred; CPA credential preferred.
- 6 to 8 years accounting/finance experience, to include 3 years management experience.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP and financial reporting systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and reporting requirements. Experience with federal and/or state-funded projects preferred.
- Demonstrated success working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, broad conceptual judgment, and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
- Detail oriented and the ability to reason logically and formulate ideas and opinions.
- Superior numeric skills as well as skills in utilizing accounting software and Excel including complex modeling utilizing advanced logic-based Excel functionality.
- Strong oral and written communication ability as well as presentation skills.
- Ability to cultivate structure in an unstructured environment. Ability to understand and develop big picture strategies and break them down into actionable tasks.

- Availability to work additional hours or weekends as projects demand. Some travel may be required.
