Foster Care Support Specialist

Status: Part Time Hourly                                            FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Foster Care Support Specialist is the leader of the treatment team.

• They will initiate the development of the treatment plans based upon the strengths and needs identified in the family IFSP and CANS.
• Provide support and consultation of the STARS resource parents, to the families of children in care and to other team members related to their role in the treatment plan.
• Coordinates and links for children and their families with needed services available within the agency or greater community in collaboration with the assigned Advocate.

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a social services field with additional understanding of rehabilitative mental health treatment services and case file documentation.

• One to two years of related experience with working with children, adolescents, and families providing direct professional interventions within the scope of their practice and limits of their expertise.
• It is required of all professional staff, including support service workers, supervisor, social worker, and other licensed staff, to have pre-service and ongoing professional development relevant to the treatment resource home care model and their individual job responsibilities.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage.
