· As a Direct Support Professional, you will get to know the children we serve on a personal level and help them to learn and improve daily living skills in their homes, schools, and in the community. Our team also strives to provide the best possible support so that residents may live independently as adults.
· This position, while vastly rewarding, will come with challenges that require a specific skill set and a personality that can demonstrate patience, compassion, and the ability to calmly redirect residents when they are struggling.
· The youth we serve range in age from 6-years to 17-years old and have varying degrees of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. If accepted for this position, you will be provided with all necessary training and/or certifications to ensure your success.
· Teach children daily living, life, and personal care skills.
· Assist with care tasks the residents cannot manage independently.
· Medication administration and health monitoring.
· Adhere to safety guidelines and utilize good judgment.
· Transport children to various engagements.
· Provide opportunities for residents to enjoy community involvement.
· Participate in all required training provided by management.
· Communicate openly and respectfully with residents, supervisors, school personnel, and members of the community.
· Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of residents.
· Demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity without fail.
