Job Responsibilities:
- The Transportation & Mobility Planning Division (TMPD) manages and administers the State Planning System (SPS). SPS is a planning tool for maintaining data and information concerning planning activities including the Federal Functional Classification, National Highway System, Census urban area, travel demand modeling, and future needs assessments.
- The system features data that includes: roadway inventory, traffic projections, and capacity analysis. TMPD seeks an experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst to assist the TMPD Data Management team in maintaining planning tools and providing GIS support to transportation planning staff.
- Ability to perform specialized technical work in support of complex GIS applications and implement geodatabases
- Ability to perform spatial analyses and produce reports according to customer specifications
- Experience assisting in the development of geographic information systems that create, maintain, or leverage geospatial base-map information.
- Ability to conduct geographic information system (GIS) program activities, utilizing GIS hardware and software to produce models, maps, spatial databases, and thematic data
- Experience documenting procedures and validating data for accuracy and completeness
- Considerable experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop and extensions)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Considerable experience with Esri ArcGIS Software (Desktop and extensions)
- ·Knowledge of Linear Referencing Systems and experience using the ArcGIS Linear Referencing Tools
- Experience in process automation utilizing Python, Model Builder, and other Geoprocessing techniques
- Experience with data editing in a multi-user versioned editing environment
- Knowledge of Esri Version management techniques
- Strong Oracle or related RDBMS skills
- ·Working knowledge of transportation planning principals
- Excellent verbal/written skills for documentation and training processes
Salary: $95,000-100,000 Annually with benefits
