Job Description:
TEMPORARY POSITION

JOB DESCRIPTION/BASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision and direction of the assigned administrator this position works with students, staff, faculty, and administrators to implement the goals and objectives of the Degrees When Due pilot project; conducts student outreach, resolves issues, and supports student enrollment, retention, success and completion efforts.

Essential Duties Summary:REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plans, coordinates and performs administrative duties to support the Degree When Due project; organizes, plans and develops work to accomplish timelines.

Performs customer outreach and relations work to support student reengagement and completion activities; responds to inquiries and correspondence.

Attends Degree When Due planning meetings.

Reviews, verifies and processes program-related forms and other documents based upon program policies and procedures; performs follow-up actions as needed.

Enters, maintains, tracks, evaluates and presents data maintained in automated and/or manual systems; identifies trends, prepares summary reports.

Explains program policies, regulations and operational procedures to students and the general public.

Assists program participants in completing college reenrollment, financial aid, and other applications and paperwork.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and retrieval systems, correspondence formats and the operation of standard office equipment.

Maintaining confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.

Principles of organizing information, record keeping, and confidential records management.

English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation.

Business computers, standard MS Office software applications, specialized software applications, and internet technologies.

ABILITY TO:
Work effectively with other employees, agencies and the public and learn/follow relevant rules and regulations.

Work independently, maintaining composure and confidentiality, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.

Communicate effectively and clearly, verbally and in writing, in a positive and professional manner.
Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment.

Provide excellent customer service and support to individuals.

Follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.

Plan prioritize and complete assignments with minimum supervision.

Use computer applications related to the work, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with staff, elected officials, boards, outside agencies, and members of the public to meet mutual goals and objectives.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including those from a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Work variable hours; evenings and weekend work may be required.

Required Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Associates Degree or sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California drivers license.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to lift 50lbs waist high, and able to assist with set up of furniture for events as directed. Ability to read small print. Ability to climb steps repeatedly Ability to descend/ascend ramps and inclines/declines Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and kneel without restriction. Communicate effectively in English. Must be able to open theatre doors repeatedly throughout shift. Deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness
Driving to and from various District locations when needed.
ENVIRONMENT Variety of environmental conditions at work sites. Injury due to awkward positions, and prolonged computer work. Exposure to sanitizers and other chemicals that may be associated with routine and incidental assignments.

Range/Step:
Salary Range: $20.00/HR.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Categorically funded positions are contingent upon funding. In accordance to Board Policy, smoking is restricted in many areas of the Yuba Community College District. Woodland Community College is a tobacco free campus.

WORK DAY, WORK WEEK, and WORK YEAR: The District has the right to establish work day, work week, work year; hours of positions within the District may vary.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Employment is dependent upon Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance; all fees are the responsibility of the selected candidates and serves the purpose of obtaining a criminal history as authorized by the California Education Code. All prospective employees shall be required to provide verification of TB test.
