JOB TITLE: SUMMER READING ACADEMY FACILITATOR
JOB SUMMARY: This position will oversee Summer Reading Academy and work collaboratively with teachers to provide struggling readers with intensive instruction in reading and literacy skills to meet the needs of the Reading Sufficiency Act. This position is a liaison bewteen the summer program and the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the planning, preparation, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare classroom for class activities.
- Identify and differentiate methods to meet students' varying needs.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Ability to communicate well at various levels with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in both large and small group instruction.
- Take direction and show initiative.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: One or more of the below requirements.
- Early Childhood or Elementary Certified
- Literacy Trained
- Reading Specialist
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be required to regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- May experience constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines.
- The ability to communicate with various groups of people is essential. This may include communication with parents, teachers, and administrators.
Salary : $24,100 - $30,500
