IT Systems/Senior Systems Administrator

Our ideal candidate would be based out of the Phoenix Arizona area while providing remote & occasional on-site IT support to all offices assigned in Arizona, Mississippi, Texas and North Carolina. Position requires approximately 10% of travel. Travel could be several times a year with durations lasting up to two weeks.
Overview
The System Administrator will provide daily enterprise-wide server and desktop administration tasks and provide tier 3 support for enterprise systems and services on the ESXi and Microsoft Windows Server platforms, including but not limited to Active Directory, SharePoint, and SQL Server in either local or cloud/hosted environments.
Daily tasks include installing, upgrading and monitoring servers, personal computers, software and hardware and managing/programing managed data switches, routers, and wireless controllers and access points. The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.
Monitor equipment for operator messages or error indicators. Set up and run diagnostic test and react appropriately to messages and report errors or machine malfunctions as required. Build and distribute hard drive images; install, configure and administer servers and client workstations. Install software patches and security updates. Respond to trouble calls and tickets as required.
System Administrator Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain Windows Server operating system and additional server components including but not limited to Active Directory, SharePoint, SQL Server, DNS, and DHCP.
- Apply patches and firmware update to major subsystems and services, roles, and system components within a Windows Systems environment and perform operating system and patch pilot testing on all changes prior to installation.
- Execute basic PowerShell or Command Shell commands.
- Monitor, analyze, and review system logs; identify potential problems with network, server and computing systems. Detect and troubleshoot problems as required.
- Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity and performance (availability, utilization, throughput, jitter, and latency) and resolve issues as required.
- Administer and monitor corporate G Suite and Office 365 accounts; maintain user accounts, assign software licenses, monitor usage and storage, and report to management user stats and system security metrics.
- Write basic technical documentation.
- Control system access and security aspects of critical systems.
- Demonstrate in day-to-day work adherence to security best practices and Technology Services access control and security policies.
- Establish and maintain suitable resource and performance monitoring on all systems.
- Act as an advocate for Technology Services customers in service planning and deployment across the organization.
- Provide technical support and customer service directly to customers.
- Work efficiently with minimal guidance from Director.
- Understand the applicable processes and procedures of the organization and make recommendations in the continual improvement of those processes and procedures, providing for management analysis and recommendations on continual improvement.
- Resolve customer satisfaction issues.
- Work non-traditional hours and respond to on-call requests to provide 24 x 7 service availability.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
- Perform network address assignment.
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
Experience
- At least six years of relevant Windows Server experience in both local and cloud/hosted environments.
- At least three years experience supporting or administering an Active Directory domain or Organizational Unit (OU).
- Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems; Windows 2008R2 to 2016 R2.
- Experience with network switching, WAN, SDWAN, and firewall.
- Experience with VMware 5.5, 6.5 including VLAN and Enterprise Plus features.
- Experience with iSCSI SANS; Dell EQ.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud migrations.
- Experience applying industry standards and best practices in an enterprise-level Windows system/server environment.
- Experience in effective communication and collaborating in a high performance team environment.
- Experience using patience, sensitivity and effective communication with a wide range of people, including the technically proficient and those with minimal computing experience or technical skill.
- Experience solving technical problems quickly and identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes.
- Experience participating in diverse workgroups.

Required Education
