The Family Justice Center Intervention Coordinator works directly with the Assistant Director of Community & Court Services to implement new family justice center work in the Greater Cincinnati area.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with staff at Family Justice Center sites.
- Conduct domestic violence/sexual assault/dating violence and stalking screen for Family Justice Center clients.
- Provide appropriate referrals for service provision for all clients at Family Justice Center.
- Assist in technical assistance and training for local law enforcement and other related community partners.
- Serve as liaison between partner agencies and the YWCA in Family Justice Center Work.
- Provide accurate and timely referrals to Legal Aid Immigration Team.
- Provide direct service and advocacy to all survivors of abuse at Family Justice Center.
- All services should be delivered with the underlying focus of how these services and the individuals receiving them are impacted by racial inequities.
- Conduct community & system wide education for immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking.
- Aid in implementation process of ex-parte hearings for Family Justice Center clients.
- Assist clients with court hearings and proceedings when necessary and appropriate. Includes attending hearings.
- Conduct risk/lethality assessment for all clients at Family Justice Center.
- Enhance the work of the Family Justice Center through community support groups.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Clerical/General Administrative
- Responds to routine email, phone calls, etc.
- Makes copies, prints documents, etc.
- Maintains accurate and thorough client files and database entry
- Files paperwork
Key Relationships
- Interacts with Assistant Director of Community & Court Services, other YWCA staff, FJC community partners, volunteers, interns, and other social service providers and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to advocacy or human services or a combination of education and experiences.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities
- Political and social sensitivity·
- Knowledge on immigration/refugee issues as relates to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking advocacy·
- Bilingual
- Must be flexible with ability to apply mature judgement and confidence with an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence·
- Must be reliable and able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and project planning skills
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic/racial backgrounds Ability to maintain highest confidentiality standards according to social service best practices, relevant licensing mandates and policies of the YWCA Greater Cincinnati.
- Able to adhere to the YWCA Greater Cincinnati and Department of Justice, Office on Violence against Women & Violence against Women Act policies on confidentiality and code of ethics
- Ability to reflect the YWCA mission to empower women and eliminate racism in work performance
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment
- Full time
- Flexible hybrid schedule (1-3 days per week) with on-site and at-home work
- Some work will be conducted at community locations.
