DAY CENTER ADVOCATE
Job Classification: Part-time, non-exempt, 20 hours/week
Work Schedule: Day Center Hours: Mondays 8am-12pm
Wednesday 12pm-5pm
Friday 12pm -5pm
Office Hours: 10 additional hours, mutually determined
Salary: $17 / hour
Reporting Relationship: CSE Program Director
Primary Accountability: Maintains a safe, confidential environment for clients of the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment’s (CSE) Day Center. Provides services to clients who are victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or abuse.
Major Duties:
- Conducts initial day center intake for clients who are victims of human trafficking, domestic and/or sexual violence.
- Orients day center clients and completes necessary paper work.
- Monitors clients in day center, addressing any concerns that arise per day center policy manual.
- Assures client and staff safety by taking necessary emergency measures.
- Assists in maintaining day center cleanliness and orderliness. Examples: day center laundry, donation management, stock kitchen, clean/set up bedroom for the clients.
- Documents relevant information in log and provide verbal “briefing” to oncoming volunteers and staff.
- Maintains necessary documentation and completing weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly paper work for supervisor.
- Assists in volunteer and community training and awareness of human trafficking.
- Attends monthly Staff Meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Actively promotes and supports the organization’s mission and vision.

· Ability to relate well to victims in crisis.
· Ability to maintain health and safety regulations at the day center.
· Ability to work independently.
· Ability to function in a crisis setting where interruptions are frequent.
· Must be punctual, reliable and understand client/staff good boundaries issues.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to drive personal vehicle and to be moving from site to site on any given day.
· Able to lift 50 pounds.
· Able to climb flights of stairs multiple times daily.
