Role Summary: As a Youth Violence Prevention Counselor reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you'll play a vital role in providing direct counseling to youth, focusing on violence prevention and intervention. This full-time, exempt position offers a dynamic opportunity to develop and implement impactful anti-violence programs.

Responsibilities:
-
Deliver individual and group counseling services to youth.
-
Conduct outreach, including educational workshops on topics like dating violence and bystander intervention.

Develop and administer anti-violence curricula for youth.
-
Establish partnerships with schools and youth-focused organizations.
-
Lead a Coordinated Community Response team for youth violence prevention.

Contribute to the development and implementation of YW Strive for Teens.

Offer flexible scheduling, including after-school and occasional evening hours, to meet youth needs.

Focus on data-driven approaches in service delivery.
Qualifications:
-
Preferred: Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field, NY State licensure, 2 years of experience, bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency, and 1 year of supervisory experience.

Required: Bachelor's degree in social work, NY State licensure, 3 years of relevant experience, strong communication, adaptability, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Maintain current licensure or a valid permit in mental health counseling or social work, fulfilling all New York State continuing education requirements.
Physical and Other Requirements:

Ability to tolerate high noise levels and lift 25 pounds.

Frequent bending, sitting, and computer use.

Occasional driving for work purposes.

Completion of background checks, NYS Traffic Abstract, and employment eligibility verification.

Use of personal vehicle for work-related travel.
