Job Overview
The Finance Assistant role provides support to students studying at INTO Oregon State University (or other US partnerships as assigned) and executes a variety of key finance functions related to student and sponsor accounts.
Key Responsibilities
This is a valued role in a growing, dynamic organization, so the responsibilities of the position may change over time but will include the following:

Student & Sponsor Accounts Receivable:
- Invoice students and sponsors in a timely manner
- Categorize receivables and proactively follow up with students and sponsors when payments are outstanding or falling due
- Review student refunds and process requests with required stakeholders
- Apply installment plans to student accounts
- Troubleshoot and respond to student, parent, educational counselor, and regional office queries

Maintain accurate student records:
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of student records, including but not limited to: income from tuition, accommodations, insurance, and other fees

Support Commercial Finance Analyst for assigned university partnerships:
- Liaise with staff to ensure all students who need health insurance and housing are invoiced/enrolled
- Provide support with invoice reconciliation and agent commissions
- Identify and process bad debt write offs, following the bad debt write offs policies
- Execute price checks, including updating new prices periodically
- Regularly review policies, procedures, and terms and conditions
- Perform special projects and other duties as requested
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced, and customer-focused environment
- High attention to detail and can analyze data from various sources
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills and ability to execute tasks under minimal supervision
- Experience working with accounting/operational software packages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with particular emphasis on Excel
- Adapt to evolving processes and ability to problem solve effectively
- Excellent oral and communication skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues both inside and outside finance teams globally
- Flexibility in work schedule (occasionally and with advanced notice) to attend virtual meetings with colleagues in different time zones
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent from a college or technical school or related experience
- A minimum of 1 year of accounts receivable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desirable:
- Knowledge of best accounting practices, able to perform account reconciliation & analysis, and troubleshoot balancing problems
- Knowledge of Salesforce and/or FinancialForce is a distinct advantage
- Proficiency in Mandarin, Arabic or other languages
- Experience working with international students and/or in higher education
- Bachelor’s degree and/or related experience
Reporting Line
This position reports directly to the ‘Senior Team Lead, Student Finance’ with a dotted line to the Student Finance Manager and Commercial Finance Analyst of any assigned university partners.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with compensation ranging from $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.

Location
This is a remote position with possible travel within the US a few times a year. Candidates throughout the US will be considered, though preferred candidates will be based within 1-2 hour(s) of INTO's office located in Corvallis, Oregon.
