What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder - 2nd Shift position at ZAAS?
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Grinder to join our team. As a Grinder, you will be responsible for operating machinery to grind, smooth, and finish metal parts according to specifications. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Set up and operate grinding machines to grind metal parts
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand specifications
- Use various tools and equipment such as lathes, milling machines, cranes, laser cutting machines, calipers, and plasma cutting machines
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Grinder or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining processes
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting specifications
- Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in grinding operations
- Ability to program and operate CNC machines is a plus
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
