About the Job :
Company Information:
A global manufacturer of Precision Metal Stampings produced in high volume.
Duties Include:
- Repair dies as per print and/or written/verbal instructions.
- Perform maintenance on running tools.
- Ensure updated tool print changes are relayed to Engineering
- Work closely with design engineering during fabrication and grooming of experimental and permanent tooling.
- Identify opportunities for improvement related to tool / process design to Engineering.
- Continuously inspect quality of own tool work with precision measuring equipment and specialized gauges.
- Assist production staff with set-up, tear down, troubleshooting, and feed control settings.
- Maintain good departmental housekeeping for safe and efficient operations.
- Understand and follow all safety related standards and practices

Required Experience
- Must be Journeyman Toolmaker for precision metal stamping dies
- Experience with progressive dies 60 ton and smaller presses
- Ability to read engineering drawings with an understanding of IPS measurements (inch, pound, second)
- Experience using precision measurement tools, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Experience with surface grinding, mills and lathes
- Knowledge of CNC machining operations a plus
- Must have a basic knowledge of press operation and the basics of setting a press (setting pitch and shut height)
