Job Description:
ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Supervisor Quality Control for new construction work in Port Sulphur, Louisiana.
Position Summary
Under the coordination of the Supervisor Quality Control (when present), ensure the correct application of the Project Quality Plan in site activities, the supervision/coordination of the quality control activities and the implementation of the Quality Control Plans.
Qualification Highlights
- Supervises the Quality Control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including Quality Control inspection schedules and
- Collection of Quality Records. Ensures the availability of quality record documents.
- Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan on site.
- Allocates Quality Control personnel to the various areas of site activity.
- Supervises inspections, reports and the documentation issued by inspectors and collects and file the required Quality Records.
- Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non-Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to the activities assigned.
- Evaluates the qualifications of inspection personnel.
- Ensures the correct application of Quality Control phase.
- Takes case of reporting on his duty to Project Quality Engineer (PQE).
- Arranges in coordination with PQE and site personnel procedures, manuals and reports.
- Be sure that all sites activities are carried out according to reference documentation.
Position Responsibilities
- 5 Years in quality control or related field
- Cooperates in Event Report Management and for all the implementation of relative corrective actions. Systematically records
- the nonconformity or event reports issued and identifies appropriate corrective actions.
- Manages collaboration of measurement instruments and related certifications.
- Distributes Quality Plan on Site.
- Informs the Project Quality Engineer of any deviation regarding the contract.
- Checks the completeness and conformity to specified applicable requirements, standards and/or directives.
- Ensures that the tests, controls and inspections are carried out and that personnel have access to all required project
- documentation.
- Makes site personnel aware of and trainee them on quality topics.
- Ensures, whenever necessary, the update of site quality control plans / control procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Suite programs
- Must have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes.
- Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
- Must have extensive knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
- Must be able to use problem-solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
- Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Preferred Additional Qualification
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- Experience working as a Mechanical worker on industrial construction projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Supervisor Quality Control will work in multiple environments, including office, warehouse, and in a trailer or building on construction sites. They must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a distance of 20 inches or less. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms
